Major Softball Suprise Blog
So I suppose I need to blog in July before I go on vacation. And man am I just shocked right now. I mean, I'm not what one woud call athletic, but I beat two throws to first to get on base when I was up, and then my last up, I have no idea where it came from, but I hit the ball into the outfield and got me a legitimate double. I mean Liz swing, crack, run, keep going to second! and I got to second with time to spare on the throw from the outfield! This just doesn't happen in my Liz-world. I got to third and then was almost, not quite, forced home, and I had to beat the throw and did. My mind still hasn't comprehended my brief moment of athletecism!

So onto other things. Since I finished Harry Potter, I suppose I should blog about it. Because, well... yeah. so anyway, to keep all you people still reading or thinking of reading in the dark (at least until I change layouts), I'll do the funky spoiler thing so... After finishing HP book 5, I've realized that Harry is like a Frodo Baggins or Luke Skywalker character. He's been through too much to ever hook up with anyone. And personally, I'm fine with that. If he had to hook up, I'm looking at Ms. Luna Lovegood as she's just kinda out there and, well, accepts things just as they are. However, there is textual evidence to back me up with regards to this little theory. Essentially, at the end, Harry draws himself apart from his classmates, marking himself as alone. Also there's the prophecy that neither can live while the other exists. Therefore in order for Harry to even begin reclaiming a normal life, it can't be until the very very end of book 7--presumably when Voldemort dies (or Harry does).

Ron and Hermione are going to hook up. I can feel it. They're the Leia and Han equivalent in this little fable. Or Samwise and Rosie (except Sam & Rosie liked each other before, but anyway...) Neville has a thing for Ginny, and that actually has a chance of working out as well. I think it was very symbolic the six people that have now faced the Death Eaters.

I've realized that I really don't like Harry. Right now, I'd be perfectly happy if according to the prophecy, Voldemort kills him (and then Neville in a suprising move offs Voldemort), though I doubt that will happen.

On the death. Ok, I was a bad reader and peaked. However, in doing that, you can really see that it's all in there the various reasons why Sirius has to die. With the ministry after him, he's a hamstrung character. His purpose is served as Harry's guardian. The Weaslys and Lupin, and suprisingly enough, I believe Snape, can look after him just as well. Plus that, he's growing beyond the need. Secondly, if we go back to the Star Wars parallel, Sirius is Obi Wan. When Obi Wan died, it first sparked rage in Luke, and so did Sirius's death, but then it motivated him further. If one reads it again with an eye to looking, the clues are all there. Not as shocking as one would think.

I have to say Harry's dad is an ass. So was Sirius. Ok, so they were fifteen, but they definately weren't the persecuted bunch like Harry seems to think he's in. Definately looking at that showed a LOT of things. Snape is going to be very important in the continued protection of Harry. Snape, actually, I believe will be doing the best to protect Harry. Do you think Dumbledore could have been ruthless like Voldemort would have in teaching Occulmancy? I don't think so. Harry was so manipulated by Voledmort, it isn't funny. Good is stupid. Glad to know that Hermione was right the whole way through. Voice of Reason. It'll happen again that she'll know something first and no one believes her.

Anyway, that's about the end of that! Going to try to get to Pirates of the Caribbean tomorrow. Shameless self-inserted fantasies coming up. We must save Elizabeth... weee! Yes, Johnny and Orlando! Save me! Save me! And the rest no one else gets to read. I love Pirates, ARG!
