Billy Boyd & Big Boat Battles!
Saw Master & Commander last night. Kate really REALLY wanted to go, thus we went. Hence me killing time doing quizzes. It was a fun movie. Much eye-candy. Won't give away too much of the plot, but it was a fun romp through the high seas! Not only that, but there were some adorable child actors that I think big things will be coming from. I'm too lazy at the moment to go and get their profiles at IMDb. Anyway, the very interesting part in the movie-going experience came when the power went out half-way through the film. What's funny is that there is a doctor who is a naturalist, and they're at the Galapagos Islands, and he gets this pout when he doesn't get to go wandering about the isalnds and collect samples and whatnot, and he starts his pout and the movie screen goes blank. As in Fine, if I can't get my stroll on the islands, I'm just going to stop the WHOLE MOVIE!. I don't know exactly how long the power was out, but it was. Probably between 15 and 20 minutes, though maybe less. We were discussing if it was on December 16 - 17, there WOULD be a riot.
So Boat movie was good. Spent today doing some cleaning/winterizing stuff. Got plastic to put over the worst of the cold-air-leaking windows, and a nice shovel to shovel my stairs and the sidewalk. I put together a small table that will now serve as the other half of my coffe table. And then, because I had felt so productive, I made a chemise. It's probably more appropriate for a Ren-Faire than SCA events (though it will be useful come Pennsic), but I have a hand-made chemise now. I'm currently wearing it as it is so comfortable. Just simple white cotton, entirely made from a remnant. Remnants are GOOD. Generally, they're at least half-price and you can make bits and pieces from them, so they are GOOD. This remnant was enough to make a short chemise. Now I have to take some of the fabric that I have washed in my basement and turn it into harem pants.
Not to mention evil plotting to do for an event in December. Anyways, I've got 2 extra cats for the week and Orpheus and Figaro are playing with a baby mouse (outside) and I'm very tired. I know, 9:30 and I'm tired, but that's what you get when you go out for a movie and there's a power-outage halfway through and the roads are icy so you have to drive slowly, then are woken up early because your parents are going out of town, but they need to pick up laundry and say one last goodbye to their kittens and then you haul up windows from the basement and make them fit in the windows where they're supposed to fit, go out shopping, get things, put things together, and sew, all under 12 hours...
Yeah, I feel like relaxing a bit... even though I have yet more rearranging to do. *sigh*
