Ok, now to blog for real despite the amusing Battle Monkey that I just had to post earlier in the day. Yay for edits. So, if you care to read my tag board *points at tag board* I've been talking to Jen on IMs and at least I'm recalling a whole bunch of unfinished Passions fanfics I had. Of course, they're grossly out of date to current storylines, but I haven't watched in... oh, I'd give it a year I'd say. Some of them are AU, some of them are my own history that I created, so I suppose they're AU as well. Hell! They're all AU! But the charactes are recognizable. Anyway, I've been reading what I had, and, damn, If I'm not getting inspired to write some more and finish them off. For a preview, you can go to This Site which has all of my stories in various states of completion. Well, except my one complete fic. That's Double Trouble (I hope the link is right) which is complete on that site or on Lizzy's fanfic site. I don't know the exact link, but there's a link from Lizzy's site. She loves Johnny Hotchkiss almost as much as I do.

So I'm pondering moving them in their incompleteness over to Elf Addiction my writing site. I hadn't realized how many fics I had going at once until I looked at them again. And now, I've got 2 Lord of the Rings fanfics in various states of incompletion (read very incomplete as I write those with lots of research). Anyway, that's what's going on.

As far as the Big Scary Step, I'm almost to the point where I can officially schedule the closing. That's going to be fun with 4 sets of lawyers going on. Joy. And I need to get me some insurance too. *writes on calendar*. Tomorrow is only a month away from the unofficial closing date! EEP! And it figures that the day after I seal up "Beanie's Winter Wear" that it snows again. Grr...

For this, I have to link Megs, who I must say whooped my tookas no matter what name I entered. Grr...

Another day, another blog that no one reads. Well I do. Call me self-centered, but I do periodically read my archives and see what was going on when. So anyway, might I just observe that it is rather difficult to do yoga when breathing is difficult. All the crap in my sinuses was going up, down, and all around. Oh it's a joy to be in one position. I couldn't even sit in Child's Pose which is one of the most relaxing and welcome poses in yoga. It's just that all the crap rushed to my nose and I couldn't breathe. It sucked.

So yeah, I'm not sure what else to say. As I was walking to my car, I passed a trio of joggers. You know the kind of joggers that don't really need to jog (probably because they DO jog). I was possessed of the greatest urge to get some sort of branch and trip them all up. I shouldn't be so mean. Probably 'cause I should go out and jog in the morning so I could eventually look like someone who doesn't need to jog. On the plus side, I had to get a smaller size of yoga pants. Yay! It was because doing shoulder stands made me feel very thin and svelte. Of course I have to blog about svelteness because it isn't often I feel svelt. It's usually voluptuous. But we were doing back strectches, and mine was proper enough that the instructor used me as an example. Yoga Rocks. Yeah, so I'm plugging my yoga school because no one gave me any comments. I shouldn't pick on Lizzy because she said she wouldn't be online. I guess I'm just in the mood to plug Lizzy because she has a great name.

OH! I almost forgot! I need to make a HUGE Thank You! to Susie because looking at my site statistics, Susie's site Random Typonic sends the most people my way. I shall have to make her a precious award or pretty graphic or something for sending people my way. So I guess, the best reward I can do is send people her way. Sound's fair, right? Right.

Well, happy Thursday everyone!

Let's see. A couple of updates on how things are: I'm still sick, but that's to be expected as there are lots of sinuses in your head, and they can hold a lot of crap, and cause no end of ickiness.

Signs of Spring: When small rodents appear to gravitate to our doorstep and die. Yep, the cats are out hunting, bringing back presents for us. On a side note, for those of you out there who aren't keen on war-stuff, just remember when you hear Tigris and Euphrates they're not rivers in Iraq, they are a pair of adorable striped kitties. Euphrates has white feet. As far as I know (and I checked earlier) there is no destruction or blights or marks or mars on either Tigris or Euphrates.

Random Thoughts: All of us bloggers are really full of ourselves, aren't we? It's like we're standing on a street corner screaming out into the vast emptiness that is cyberspace saying, "Validate my existence!" We put up commenters and tag-boards in the hopes of getting responses to validate our views or to make us feel better about ourselves. It kind-of reminds me of posting your stories (original or fanfic) on the web. After all, we're just review-whores. Of course, the reviews that say "your story rocks" make us feel good, they don't really make us better writers. And the ones that take issue with your most darling of characters, you scream as a flames because everyone else must be cruel to think that of these characters/plotlines that are near and dear to you. I don't really know where I'm going on this thought, except that it's there. Feedback from cyberspace is a really cool thing (And I fully admit to bein in that 'full of ourselves' category. Hence the 'Our' ) but really what else is it for other than to have someone stamp in on your street-corner and give you a quickie? Ok, well mental thoughs have taken a random turn of events. I guess it's good that it's proclaimed as random from the beginning. Guess I'm just feeling rather cynical today.

And mind hops to a new topic: I'm a few steps closer to nailing down a firm closing date! Signed mortgage contract is to the bank and the lawyer. The bank is getting an employment verification from SU, and then we should be good to set a date. Well, except I still have to get homeowners insurance and stuff like that. It makes me excited. Cynical yet excited what an odd combination. *knocks on head for any other personalities wanting to take a spin at the keyboard*

Hm... they seem to be sleeping or preoccupied with their own little adventures in the universes in my head. Well I guess that's all for now. *pulls cheap review-whore tactic* I won't blog again until I get at LEAST 10 comments.

Yeah, that's a bunch of crock. I vomit out my own take on life around me even if no one's listening! HA!

March 24 is National Orange Day for SU, so in the spirit of National Orange Day, here is my national Orange Day layout, going live March 24. If you need me, I'll be having cake with the Chancellor. *sings Happy Birthday to SU*

Yes I know, it's what I wrote below, but now I'm on my lunch break and can actually break to blog. This weekend was pretty good. I packed up my jammies, some sheets, and some clothing I know I'm not going to wear until July (namely my Renaissance dress--which I should upload so you can see it). I also started weeding out my clothes to see the ones I wear vs. the ones I don't or the ones that don't fit well that don't hang right, that are just Bleh!

Mom & I also went shopping, and I got Dr. Scholls sandals (wooden, they just rock) and some new yoga pants (a size down from my other yoga pants, which is a very big YAY!). I tried on a really pretty dress that I could wear to a wedding upcoming in July, but I still need a bit more yoga until it looks beautious. It was blue and went wonderfully with my eyes. I also managed to catch a cold. A big resounding BOO! for colds. Pretty much, yeah.

So anyways, last night I go down to the basement and get a red-orange top and bring it upstairs and set it on the foot of my bed so I could wear it for National Orange Day. But upon waking, I realize that the shirt isn't there and it was all a huge! dream. Major suckage. So I think and remember I've got this other orange sweater, kinda faded, but of course, it's in the aforementioned pile of clothing I'm getting rid of! So I dive through the pile to find it, and wear it. So now I can't get rid of it until I get another orange top to replace it for National Orange Day. *sigh* The things i do for my place of employment.

On an update-sort-of-note, I added a Chat regarding a certain hot blond elf, I also finally went in an added Lizzy to my family, something I've been meaning to do for ages! I want to send a shout out to Susie for her get well IM for me yesterday, and to Shann who is a Wonder-Mom. And go visit Jen at her live journal, and let her know, there's always a home for her here at beaniesdragons.com. :) I think that's about it.

And just because I came across it, for those of us between 15 and 24, go let your voices be heard over here and take the poll. Don't say that no one ever asked your opinion, because some people do want to hear it.

Look at what I got!

I also got official approval on my mortgage so I can officially join Shann in the ranks of being a homeowner. Well after closing which is in like a month and a little bit. I still have to fax things to lawyers and agents and banks and schools, but cest la vie. Yes another blog to be published on my lunch time. It seems as if Everyone is blogging. Like These People. I know I should be better about it, but I get home at night, and just don't feel like it. I need to blog by voice. I'm always most inspired to blog on my way to work. I get lots of ideas listening to NPR and want to make a political statment. And then I get to work and want to hide in the bomb-shelter that is the basement I work in and tune out the rest of the world.

*plugs ears to world* NOT LISTENING.

And I really don't want to talk about it, because it's a touchy subject that everyone has an opinion about, and I don't want to get into arguments and whatnot, so I'll just sit back and stay in my TV-less bomb-shelter of an office and not listen!. Call me an Ostrich, but there's not much that would create massive amounts of terror around here. I doubt the country would get up in arms about a bunch of cows going *poof*. Well I would. And we'd get the Indians (from India) on our side in the war. :) Ok, bad joke, but there are far too many much more lush and populated places for terrorists to hit than here. Plus that, I work in an official bomb-shelter, so I'll come out alive.

*points to blog below* Why I should never ever EVER blog late at night. Goodness! *looks again & winces* Oh the typos! Oh the stuff that makes absolutely no sense! Woah Nelly, someone needs typing skills!

And I call myself an English Major!

So yeah, we're having a temporary spring, when it is nice and above freezing and very nice, and nice enough to wear capri-length pants. Or I would if I didn't have to work. They're not exactly office dress-code. Though I do have skirts. Yay skirts!

I did not pack any more yet today, as Spring is a terrible time to back. In the middle of Winter, you can pack all your summer clothings, and in the middle of summer, you can get your winter clothings. But in Spring, you need pretty much all of them! One day it could be 80 and you're in shorts and the next it's 40 and you're in sweaters. Yes, that is what happened when I graduated. Mother's Day 2000. The day before, it was gorgeous. I had all my clothes packed up except for the dress I was going to wear for graduation. It was literally my only option for clothing. And it was COLD! And I FROZE! I walked around in my graduation robe because it was another layer!

So anyways, yeah. I'm lookin gin my closet and looking at what I could pack. I guess they'll wait for another bit. Of course, my computer is going to wait until the last possible moment because I'm an avowed intenet junkie. I am. So anyway, yeah. This is my meaningless pointless blog to apologize for the terrible spelling, grammar, and mental processes that I inflicted upon you at 11:10 last night. It's what I get for remembering my duty to Susie. And a big hug to Shann because she tags me. I suppose I should whip up a commenter or something on my blog, but really getting no comments is a terrible bore. It's like visiting the post office at school. Nope, no one loves me. Ah well. My co-dependent cat Orpheus loves me.

Whatever day it is now... yeah, I'm up late. Just a quick update on the packing situation. I've got way too many books. 14 years of heavy reading will do that to you, I suppose. I've got a crate in the basment where I'm loading up my stuff, and but for 2 bosex, they're all books. and I still have several shelves of books to pack. Oh well... I also got some of my deep winter clothes 'cause it was like 56 here today! YAAAAAY!

08 March 2003

So I'm packing up my room. This means things that I don't use, or probably won't use between now and the time I move. Namely, taking into consideration the books that I have arleady read along with the books that I have yet to read, my bookshelves are now empty. Yes, boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes of books all taped up and labled are in my basement on a pallet calmly awaiting when they can next come out and see the light of day. I've eliminated one bookshelf from my room, and soon will eliminate another. This is leaving my walls pretty bare. Probably a good thing as that means that I can paint if need be. yes, so long to my purple walls and blue ceiling. Well Ithink the blue ceiling has to stay. It just has to. the blue ceiling rocks my socks off. So my room is starting to look bare. Well one side. The side with my computer still looks as full as ever. But, alas, it won't always be so. I will eventually have to pack it up too and send it on its merry way until I move into a house of my own. *sigh* It is sad making a room empty after it had been made full once.

But it will be happy to fill lots of new rooms with my stuff. I may have to reupholster my toybox/hopeless chest. Make it so it fits in my living room or some other room. Probably my living room, so I have something to put my feet on. It will become like an ottoman. oooh, ottoman. Speaking of Ottomans and the Ottoman empire, have you ever really wondered what they looked like. I mean, they were Ottomans. Do you think the ones with more upholstry were chosen over others? You know, were 3-legged Ottomans discriminated against? And how did they tell males and females? Or were they not really 'born' but 'carpented'. And if they were just furniture, how did they come to rule a good deal of land? Something to think about. Something very serious to think on.

Anyways, you should really go to check out my writing site and learn new and exciting things!

Forgive me Susie for I have sinned. It has been a long time since my last blog. A week and a half I'd say. That is poorly done of me. This blog is also dedicated to Lizzy who shares a cool name with me and Shann who provided excelent moral support on my tag board and in IMs.

So the required plugs over with, I just have to say that:

I'M BUYING A HOUSE!

Yeah, it's pretty much in the bank now. I wanted to wait until I was sure that I was going to get it. But we got the results of the contingency today, and the problem with the furnace that could either have been a big huge problem or a little tiny problem turned out to be the little tiny problem so it's all good and easily fixable. YAY! And I've been to the bank, and they're putting my mortgage through and I sent my little application off to the SU mortage program. Which is cool, because SU guarantees the loan, so I can finance the whole thing and not pay a mortage penalty. And that is major rockage for a first time buyer like myself.

So begin gushing about the house: It is two stories tall, and part of it looks very A-frame-ish in that it has a steep roof for part of it, though there are little gables that stick out. Three bedrooms, one bathroom (not a problem as it is just me and the cats). That's all upstairs. And a proper stairway to the attic. No pull-down stuff. I'd have to do some work in the attic before I let my cats play up there, else they'd have tons of fun sliding down into the eaves and there are nails and other nasty things up there. ICK! Anway, you go downstairs and there is a living room, an all-weather sun-porch, a dining room, a very nice-sized kitchen, and an office-type room. And then there's the basement. And the basement is basementish.

So it is very cute, hardwood floors throughout. Built in 1925, so it's almost as old as my grandpa.

Speaking of my grandpa. My dad is trying to find him a Gandalf-type walking stick. Because my granpda is getting old that way. I jump to Lord of the Rings because I can hear Bilbo saying "A very good year, almost as old as I am" when I talk about my house being almost as old as my grandpa. Not that my grandpa is very hobbit-like. Way too tall. He doesn't have that 'roundiness'. And he wears shoes. And his feet aren't hairy as far as I can tell.

So anyway, it's time for me to wait. And I have to say congratulations to my friend Sue (who is not Susie) who got a new stove/oven so now can bake properly and who is also getting a new house, and who is excitedly waiting for me to buy a house so she knows what to do when she buys a house of her own.

And the best thing about it is: It's still cheaper than renting!
