Greetings from the Mischievous One
I have veen dubbed. YAY. Don't know why they'd call me the Mischievous, but there it is. *grins* Anyways, it was a very long weekend and now I'm back in the mundane world. *sigh* But I've now been to my first Event and I want MORE! And I want to learn how to shoot a crossbow. Mwa ha ha ha ha. It's scary that I have people who will teach me that.

So anyways, yes, I was dubbed at the Event 'Minionette the Mischievous' Though bits and pieces might change should I register an official SCA name. And I had Mead. And on Sunday, I went to a Meadery. And it was good. Very good. I now have 2 bottles of said Mead.

For some reason when I was thinking on what to write in the blog, it seemed longer. Ah well. There it is.

A pox on evil doctors!
Kate needs a hug... well, a doctor would be nice. Failing all else, she needs a Ewan McGreggor to serenade her. And as long as we're on that subject, she needs an Aragorn and a Boromir, a Faramir, a Legolas, and a Will Turner thrown in for good measure. And as long as we're giving her all them, we might as well throw in a Cap'n Jack Sparrow for good measure. And Richard Sharpe. Yes, him and his boots.

And any other attracitive male persons that can be thought to bestowed upon her to give her massages and any other services she requires.

Yes, Ben, there's a side-bar on the site now. Sheesh, you'd think that a deliberately migrane-inducing layout would be allowed to be as annoying as I can make it.

So I'm listening to Moulin Rouge right now (the mix I made of the 2 CDs that they released officially). After I make sure that it's the right mix, it'll be bestowed upon Kate because she needs a pick-me-up. Anyway, my point is... did you know that "Spectacular! Spectacular!" is actually Orpheus in the Underworld--Orverture by Offenbach. I find this amusing because Orpheus is also my cat.

Anyways, onto Like a Virgin Moulin Rouge style!

All Hail the Dessert
So I was so upset with the tale of woe about the airport security that I forgot to mention the phallic dessert. The hotel we stayed at out in Dallas for APRA had this revolving restaurant attached to it. It was up on this very tall tower and rotated around to see the skyline of Dallas.

Anyway, they have this dessert that's supposed to be a chocolate replica of the restaurant and tower. Except it comes out looking like:

the dessert

Yeah, so that's the dessert. It's amusing, especially since the globe at top was filled with creamy white stuff. *giggle*

DoBe DoBe do!
Yesterday was hellish. I was tired all day, and my head hurt, so I napped from 6 to 8 pm... got up, watched Benny & June while hemming my cloak and adding clasps and whatnot. I need to hem the bottom now. That will be today's project. *nods* And once that is done, I will have a full set o' garb for the event on Friday. Much fun, my first event, *squee!*

Working on The Grimalkin. I've got a few chapters left on that fic and then I can set about finishing others of mine that I've neglected horribly over a year and a half. Therefore, my shout-outs are to Lizzy and Jen (who's had a fic discussed and looked-for over at Coffeerooms... thought she should know).

Anyway, that's it from here!

Pause in the Laundry-ness
Yeah, doing loads of laundry. I have to mow my lawn (ick). I've got to make a belty-thing for my dancing outfit. Movies movies movies!

Um... err... yeah, lost track of that thought. I did get my outfit done to go dancing in last night. It needs a pair of tucks to truly become very comfortable. But let me tell you, belly dancing is fun. Just need to get my confidence up that I'm doing the right thing.

And I need to get back into doing yoga as well to regain flexibility. Both hobbies will help the other. I also have to take in the elastic in my pants.

I'm very sleepy after having been up late last night, and should eat lunch-ish things. And after that, continue laundry and sewing. tra-la-la... making garb.

Ahoy Mateys, I've pillaged me some pants!
First of all, a happy little shout out! to my faithful commenter Lizzy.

Second of all, I now have pants! Yes, I know how that sounds, but it's my first pair of home-made pants. And they are dancing pants. Yep, harem pants. They be there and ready to be dancing in for Eastern dancing (see Joyful blog about bellydancing below). Yep, tomorrow I get to figure out the top, and hem my veil. But oh, these pants are comfy.

I decided against the petable material, just because I had a feeling it would show moisture very well. Not that my current pair won't, but it's a sensible cotton-type as opposed to silky stuff. But I will be using the silky stuff in the top and in the little overdress-tie-on thingie. After all, what's a good dancer without things tied around her hips?!

And I have a temporary jingly bit as well. And I can wear my jingly anklet. It's all WEEEEE! I need a jingly waist-bit. *nods*

La Fille sur le pont,
So last night after A&S, I came home and watched my new movie: Girl on the Bridge which was rather interesting and amusing. At least the subtitles were. Yep, it's all in French with English subtitles. And it's shot in black and white. I heard about it a way long time ago... like 2000 and had forgotten about it, until perusing IMDb about Johnny Depp and clicked to see his girlfriend and was like... wait! I remember hearing about that movie on NPR.

Like you needed to know that.

Regardless, it was an amusing movie which starts off with a knife-thrower recruiting his female targets by picking them up off of bridges or rooftops when they're suicidal. So there are these two unlucky people who are only lucky when they're together. I enjoyed it. Dunno if others would, but I enjoyed it. :) Of course there is the metaphor about knife-throwing and sex, but that's beside the point.

Elf Addiction: Version--Elf Blood
Elf Addiction: Version--Elf Blood Is up and running! Not that it ever went offline! lol It's just got a new layout, that's all!

Lizzy commented so nicely. It was nice of her. You should visit her. You should also visit Jen and Susie because I say so.

And while you're visiting, you should check out here because I've got a couple new/old stories up. Well they're newly posted, but essentially old stories. I'll move them over to Elf Addiction soon! :)

I had a wierd dream last night involving Oz and Willow from Buffy. Apparently Oz found a boyfriend in the intervening time he was away from Willow. *shakes head* Also involved in this dream was a girl being kept in a cage by her boyfriend, and when she got out, she wanted to hold my cat Orpheus, and we all went to the other side of the road (myself, girl formerly in cage, and sadistic boyfriend) to properly hold Orpheus. It was very odd.

Things to do....
This blog is dedicated to Lizzy who has been a faithful commenter. *nods* Therefore, you should go visit her site.

Anyways,
I've got lots of things to do today. Grocery shopping and whatnot. I've got to wash my pretty blue suede fabric (no jokes about shoes) to make a nice cloak. Anyway, washing it evens out the width. And then I need to cut and pin and sew and voila! A cloak.

I also have a couple of CD mixes to make. And yes, they are LEGAL mixes as they're all from CD's I own, so I've paid the recording industry, yes I have!

Boring, I know.

Friday night, I got to see a pair of cheesy movies. Conan the Destroyer. According to a friend "A well balanced meal: Beef, Cake, and Cheese". Never saw it before. And it was fun to make fun of! Arnie should use some of the faces he made there in his Goventorial campaign. *nods*. It also features Grace Jones with a tail and her very own sound-effect. The second chesy movie was Tank Girl, the viewing of which could only be improved after a couple shots of alcohol. But I was driving, so I got to see it in all it's absurdity. I wonder if Naomi Watts puts it on her resume?

Well... now that I've dazed off into the distance for a while, it's time for me to hop on to the Grocery Store and get me some food for the week!

And then off to do laundry and make clothings! weeeee!

Belly Dancing Liz! Weeee!
WEEEEEEEE! I get to learn 'Eastern Dancing' which is to say 'Belly dancing'. I got my first lesson tonight, and though in comparison to other people who have been doing it for years and years, I completely SUCK, it rocks my socks off!

It's like "hello, I'm a sexy woman" dance. It's like "round for a reason" dance. It's like, all fun and jingly and get to emphasize hips and buns and boobies, all of which I've got (amply). It is so much fun. It's all playing with scarves and making circles and slow shimmys and weeeeeee!

Yeah, it's like that.

I love my barony!

Dream #1 was Friday night. Dream #2 was Saturday night. Both mornings, I woke up and said to myself: I have to tell Kate and Ginger we all met Viggo!

Dream #1: It's a little fuzzy, but involved being on a college campus and a poker game/tournament. After that was over, Kate, Ginger, and I were taking this tour-type-thingie, and that was where we all met Viggo. He was just standing there and we were talking to him and I got to pet his hair. It was very soft. Of course, true to form, all three of us were flirting mercilessly. :-D

Dream #2: I dreamed I had to tell Kate and Ginger about Dream #1, and I was doing so... at the Scottish Games (don't ask why). And for some reason , there was a boat, and we were all getting on the boat (and Ginger had to be careful of her foot getting on and off), and when we got off, we were at this odd place where actors and stars and celebrities live. Only you needed a card/key to get in. Viggo was the one who explained that to us, and he went on his merry way, but apparently we looked forlorn enough that he came back and gave us his card/key, and we followed him in and were helping him move the rest of his stuff out of a place he had once shared with Liv Tyler, because apparently they were married once and now divorced (she left him for a hockey player). So we were helping him get all his stuff out of her place. Apparently, he had a cat.

So those were my Viggo dreams. Two in a row, it was very nice. :)

So everyone gets to have one layout that is knowingly bad on the eyes. And this is it. Yes, this is Version: Migraine. I am very aware of the fact that the colors are obnoxious and the graphic at the top and bottom can make people dizzy. Not all my layouts are like this. Wittness theHot Menz Blog & Game Preserve which I also made up.

Anyway, if you want to know the grisly details, go see the about section. If you want to know how my Labor Day went, read on.

I have a new kitchen sink fixture. Joy *beam*. I even helped in getting that sucker plumbed up. I also have now the ice-maker/water tap out of my freezer. Fresh cold water at a moment's notice! I even heard the first batch of ice fall. Anyway, it is very pretty so everyone give me a big old 'oooh' and 'aaah'. I almost got to play with wiring too. Well I did play with wiring. I almost got to put up a new light in my bathroom, but there was one hole where I needed a screw to support the new fixture, but the hole was stripped and wouldn't hold a screw. DAMN THEM ALL! So I had to put the old light back up. That was under the loving direction of my father. *love you daddy*

But that's about it. I so want to take some time to veg, and I will now that I have a new layout up.

So say hello to my sketch of 'Brie'. I have not adopted Brie from OFUM. I have adopted Craban. But anyway... time for me to veg and once again try to make curtains for my bathroom!
