Shann lives!
Shann lives in the land of the blogging again. At least for a little bit. She has an über-yummy Brad-inspired layout, with multiple views of Brad. :) Welcome back Shann!

And as a nice segue from Shann's layout, Troy was awesome. Yes it was. I will descend into super-fangirlishiness for a few moments. *mentally squeals at the chest shots and leg shot and nude side-views and everything* Um.... yeah. Brad, Orlando, Eric Bana, Sean Bean. It was chalk-full of yumminess!

It didn't follow Homer's version of the war. It was more like Homer-lite, or Homer-unexaggerated-by-400-years-of-legend. There was definate homage done to how certain things could have become legend later on.

The girl who played Bresis should have played Helen. But hey, the 1,000 ships was mostly on the 'hey, he stole my wife!' vein rather than 'my wife is the most gorgeous woman around and he stole her!' vein. And the bulk of the 1,000 ships was more along the lines of 'Hey, my brother's wife was stolen so I can invade Troy' vein.

Anyways, it was a good movie. Watching it, I noticed Paris had that look like "oh, I need to change my tunic" about three or four times in the film, which was amusing and so totally in character. I also noticed, where goes Legolas, so go the rest of the Elven archers. I imagine it's where they got so many good archers to guard the gates of Troy. I know, I'm mixing my movies, but it's fun to do so.

I still love Odyssius even more after Troy. I love a smart man. Hector also got my smart-man hots all riled. He was a good commander. Paris was an idiot. Well, he had a good idea later in the movie, which was one of the better ideas in hindsight. Didn't the Trojan's know "beware Greeks bearing gifts?!" Oh wait...

On the plus side, Nana lived through the movie. Yes, the benefits of Greek/Albanian heritage. That was my Nana. Andromache. She was a little thinner than in real life, but she had a super-fat adorable baby which led to several ovary-squealing moments. :) Slightly put out that my Great-grandmother (Athena) didn't get the mention that she deserved. But hey, there's always the Sean Bean as Odyssius sequel (well in my imagination there is!), and we all know that he was the favorite of Athena. I don't blame either my Nana nor my Great-grandmother in their choices. :)
