So my keyboard stopped working yesterday...
Which basically led to me not doing anything online because, well, I couldn't write anything. Grrr... I must find my old keyboard for a temporary fix while I figure out what the Flaming Denethor is wrong with this one. Anyway... Because no computer, I did puzzles and watched Golden Globe buzz. I didn't know the awards were yesterday, so it was a surprise to me.

Happily, my personal favorite Lord of the Rings managed to Win Best Picture! Ha! And it took home globes for all the awards it was nominated for (Best Picture-Drama, Best Director, Best Score, and Best Original Song).

Yaay! Erm... not much else to say. I finished MinionWear™ for the most part. It's going to look really really good. Just get the final touches on it before Feb 21.

The other thing I managed to do was to lean out my second-story windows and bash the icicles hanging from the eaves, since they were getting very long and very large and probably weren't good. It was amusing and kind a fun, watching them plummet and land *poof* in the snow. It was a good day to do it since I had my car parked where they would not plummet and land *bang* on my car and thus damage Angus. Poor Angus has been through enough this winter!

Winter Driving Sucks
I know.... I live in the Northeast. We get snow. We get a lot of snow. True, there are probably places that get more snow, but when it comes to snow, I think that I've got experience when it comes to dealing with it.

It's really sad though. There were people killed Thursday and Friday because of shitty driving conditions. It's like Drivers! Keep your freaking eyes open! If you can't really see well, slow the Flaming Denethor down! Two people were killed on Thursday being good samaratins. They were trying to make sure people in cars that had slid off the road were all right. Both people were hit and killed going back to their own cars. This was in two separate accidents in two separate areas.

Then on Friday there was a guy in an SUV towing a trailer. He lost control and the trailer stayed on the highway while the SUV and driver went over the overpass and ended up crashing on the street below. So you people in SUV's... they don't make you any safer in winter driving. Certainly, they can help you get started in the snow, but they can't help you when it comes to breaking. 4 wheel drive does not help you stop whatsoever, and you have to remember that. There are severe consequences when you drive too fast on shitty roads.

I mean, I was running some errands and going to a friend's house for movie night, and, well, I never got above second gear. The roads were that poor and driving was that slow. Well my driving was, because I like having control of my car. Unplowed hills were a bitch because it was hard to get a grip on the road so it was pure momentum. I promised Angus (my car) no going anywhere today. He doesn't want to be out in the show and shitty roads again.

There were people doing stupid things out on the road yesterday. Things that could get themselves and others killed. They were people who refused to move their cars to the proper side of the road when the parking changes at 6pm. You know, there's a reason for that--and it's to make room for the plows to get through as well as making sure that there are two lanes of traffic. And when the roads are shitty, it's a hell of a lot safer because traffic doesn't have to stop and start because that's when you're going to loose control.

I mean, last night, I was bringing someone home, and I could not make it up a hill. It wasn't a huge one. There were cars on both sides of the road waaay past when the 6pm change was supposed to occur. I had to stop for a car coming down the hill, and lost any momentum I had. Angus couldn't make it up. Reversing down a hill with cars all around is not a pleasant thing to do.

So yeah, I was so mentally uptight when I got home at 1:30 in the morning that even though I was exhausted, I could not sleep until 3:00 in the morning. Just because I was wound so tight from winter driving and all the stupid people on the road thinking that driving in Lake Effect is the same as driving on a clear Spring day!

So anyway, some of my garage is now cleared out, but it still won't make me park there in the winter. No way. Not when my driveway runs the entire length of my land. I'm not shoveling that. As it is, I should be shoveling out my driveway now... or at least today.

But not until after I work on MinionWear™. MinionVest™ needs to be created, and depending on how much trim is left will see if I can trim up MinionTop™. If not, I've got some other gold trim. I'm going to look so snazzy in MinionWear™.

Wee! Snowblown!
So my parents came and took the snowblower last night. It is theirs, so I suppose they can have it. Not like I know how to start the thing. But they left me a present! My daddy being the beloved daddy that he is (and because I know my mother won't touch the thing) snowblew my driveway--or at least parts of it. And he did my sidewalk and a good portion of the neighbor's sidewalk as long as he was headed that way.

So Three Cheers for my daddy!

Um... well, that was my attempt to blog more. Wasn't it fun?

I should say that The Grimalkin has been updated with a new chapter. You can find it through the link above. Things are getting close to the end now. A few more chapters, I'm thinking, to resolve things. It's kind of sad when a story gets to the ending. It's like sending your child out into the world. Not that I have children to send into the world, but it's like *sniff* it's all growed up!

My house is haunted...
I know I haven't blogged in a while. When I've felt motivated, I haven't been near a computer, and when I was near a computer, I wasn't motivated. Let's just say, a whole heckuva lot of things have happened since my last blog:
1) My shower started dripping randomly. Well, the water would not turn all the way off. Apparently, this is due to hard water. So my dad and I replace the thingies that need replacing. That was on a Saturday. The next Wednesday night, all of a sudden, I had no hot water to my shower. This is Not Good. I had hot water to the rest of my bathroom. So I draw a bath since my shower is separate from my bath-tub, and it is NOT relaxing since it's a small tub and it's might mighty cold out! brrr. On thursday, I take apart the handle to my shower again (where I had to replace the washer thingies last time), and they seem to be in working order. I put everything back, and have hot water again, and have had hot water for almost a week. Very wierd. This ties into the ghostiness factor since like a week before Halloween, one of my outside lights turned on and wouldn't turn off despite me flipping the switch. Then on Holloween, it works. Wierd.

2) Today is Jen's birthday. She needs hugs and hot men.

3) Lizzy, yes, I'm working on a chapter of the Grimalkin. Had to do some research-y stuff once I got back a little "okay, where am I going with this" moment.

That's about all that's happened. Aside from random needs to muse, although time is running short. I should remember to muse later when I'm not on lunch-break--though knowing me, I'll forget. *sigh* Such is life.

Very Belated Happy New Years...
So I've been very bad at blogging recently. Very very very bad. In fact, for about two weeks there, I did a general avoidance of comptuers. So I suppose there are some mundane details that should be discussed. My dining room is now half-white and half pink. I still have two walls to paint, but I do have it part-way done at least! When I get the hutch moved, I can finish painting the other two walls.

What else... The holidays were fine. I got the Plague as a gift. Yes, the Plague. My brother got Ebola. You too can get your own 1,000,000x actual size cute fuzzy disease at giantmicrobes.com. They're adorable.

What else? Not much. I got invaded by friends from college. *waves to them*

Then I got to go to Kingdom 12th Night in Niagara Falls, whereupon I got a new sparkly and a new jingly and trim for MinionWear™.

It snowed yesterday evening. About 10 at night last night, I shoveled. At least it was light and fluffy snow because it was cold. Amazingly enough MinionPants™ kept me warm enough on their own. I love my MinionPants™. I have to make the rest of MinionWear™ soon though. Before February 21. I suppose I should start a countdown or something. :)

Anyways, now I have blogged in the new year. Go me.

PS. If anyone finds the Portriat of Dick Clark (like the Portrait of Doran Gray), please let me know.
