Wicked people I know.

I have a friend. His name is Craig. He put the idea for a song in my head (which shall remain a secret until it can be unleashed upon the unwary at an appropriate time). And now it is complete. Craig: you are wicked--you rock!

In other, less wicked news, over on my SCAdian page, I've gotten up a new song about Pennsic, well the longing for Pennsic the rest of the year. *smile*

In other cat-mommy news. Poor Orpheus snuck outside when I got in last night, unbeknownst to me, and spent the night outside when it was below freezing cold. Poor Orpheus. He was hanging out by one of the heating vents when I left. I don't blame him.

That's about it, though.

Kittens, Snow, and Songs

So, I couldn't sleep last night. I coulnd't find a happy temperature medium between having the last blanket on (too warm) and having it off (too cold). I think I'm going to need to do a change-up of blankets. However, because I did toss and turn, I got to wittness something that Figaro probably didn't want me to. You see, I went to roll over, and couldn't get to the pillow I wanted because Orpheus had set up camp there. I pondered dragging the pillow over to the other side of the bed so I could sleep on my side and went to pull the blankets, and saw Clorinda's little bright eyes looking at me. Now Clorinda is still tiny so I can disturb her without too much problem. I went to pull the blanket, but I saw that just beyond Clorinda slept Figaro--securely anchoring the blanket. Add to this the fact that Figaro and Clorinda were curled up together when they're the ones that often battle (play-like, but Figaro gets annoyed, because she's still young and kittenish, and he's older and not as into play as she is) and it was amusing to see them sleep all snuggly.

Eventually, they all got off my bed so I could get to the side I wanted. Unfortunately, I only had it for a few minutes before Orpheus returned, sat on the unused side of the pillow I was sleeping on and proceeded to flop down, and expand (in the way only cats can) and shove me off to the other pillow. *sigh*

Of course, there was another two inches of snow on the ground this morning, which meant I had to shovel to get my car out. Fortunately the annoying neighbor who (despite having a driveway) parks right across from my driveway (regardless the legal side of the street to park on) moved his car by the time I had to leave for work. Otherwise, there is no way for me to get out of my driveway. The road is too narrow, and my driveway's too narrow--especially with the snow--for me to get my car turned savely onto the road without hitting his car. It is very VERY annoying.

I had a tune for my new song last night, but I lost it by this morning and I'm trying to recreate it. I have bits of it I think, but it wants to blend into my Song for Sixpence, which is annoying because the tunes were different... The meter is similar, but they're different songs dangit!

Hey, it looks different!

I've got a sneaking suspicion things look a little different around here! Hey! What's that dragon doing perched on the pole looking over the posts? Hey! Why, it must be a new layout! Huge shoutout to Lizzy who showed me a new way of coding things. She was my favorite person in the world starting last Friday. Go Lizzy.

That's about it. Our president is still a moron. Part of me wants to take his inaguration speech and MST it, because the bits that I did hear were screaming for MSTing. It's very snowy here. My father is expecting that I have used Sven--the snowblower he bought me for my birthday. It wasn't a present that I particularly wanted in the first place. He unilateritally decided I needed one, even though its much easier to shovel 20 feet of driveway rather than shovel and 80 foot path to get to the garage to snowblow 120 feet of driveway. So it's not like I was jumping up and down "oh I need this I need this" and not using it. It was like "um, I don't want one" and "too bad you're getting one anyway." *rolls eyes*

There have been some updates over at Verbosity. I'll get some new stuff up there when I get some time to write some new stuff.

Another Snow Update

Another foot out of my driveway. And there it goes! I actually moved Angues a little bit just to rotate the tires and make the snow-less spot in a different place (closer to the end of the driveway, so if I have to do another foot in the morning, I'll have a little less that I'd have to do.

Apparently, Real Winter™ hit with a vengeance. Oy. that's all I have to say. On the bright side, the neighbors across the street won't be parking their car in front of my house on my little extra bit of paved area. Heh. That's now a mound of snow.

Pretty soon, as soon as I re-code the main pages, I'll have this site over to a new original layout drawn by yours truly. So look to see that hopefully before February. Until then, maybe I'll get some sort of intelligent post up sometime.

Side note: Figaro likes to have a rhythm section. Twice today, he's walked on my keyboard, turned it on, and started the default drum beat rhythm. Silly kitten.

Snow Update

Well, around 4pm, I went outside to shovel my driveway (because I really don't like snowblowers, even though they have their uses... someone else can come over and use Sven and clean out my driveway, but it's not something I particularly want to do), and 20 minutes later, I've removed about a foot of snow. I'll update later on to see if there is more.

In site news, I'm coming close to getting my new layout live. I have to recode what few pages I have, but hey, Verbosity has a lovely new layout. Is it wrong for me to smile and feel giddy when I go and check on the page? I'm moving stories over there periodically, and I'll get things updated here and then I have to recode My Scadian page to make things much nicer.

Verbosity is open!

Just a minor update post to crow that Verbosity is now officially open with a temporary layout and limited content, but it is open! Isn't that wonderful? Sound cue!

January Update

Er... Happy New Year. Since I haven't been here since then. Also Happy Birthday to Jen! Because, well, it is her birthday.

Winter finally turned into real winter, by which I mean, instead of having 40 degree days in a freak non-Upstate-New-York-Global-Warming sort of way, it's now back to the reassuring 15 degree temperatures (plummeting to -3 or -10 at night) with snow. Sven, the snowblower that I got for my birthday has apparently given up on altering the weather to keep my driveway clear and is now resigned to having to be used. I'm not quite at that point yet. *guilty look*

Just like this time last year, my hot water stopped working just in my shower. A little freaky, I know, but if you check my post from January 20, 2004, you'll see it's true.

I have the feeling I should blog here more than I do. Lizzy, I hope you got my IM with the website of the story of mine you wanted. If not, you can find it here and go to "fiction" and then Tchaicovsky.

That's about it for now. I promise to come here more often and blog. I promise. I really do.
